&lt;p&gt;i graduated physical therapy and while I am not going to be getting back into insanity right away, i am definitely getting right back into healthy (vegetarian) eating and working out.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;since finishing physical therapy, i signed up for a fitness class called My Fit Mommy.  We basically do burpees and push-ups and running in a park near my house. one time it even rained while we were doing squats (so of course i felt really B.A.).  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I also have been doing a lot of walking/hiking.  today me &amp;amp; cam went on a 3&amp;#160;1/2 mile hike. carrying a 25&amp;#160;lb baby up giant hills is NO JOKE.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;oh gosh i have been MIA for days….but honestly its just not fun to write a blog about insanity&lt;em&gt; when im not actually doing insanity&lt;/em&gt;!!  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;however, my back is starting to feel a bit better (my movement has progressed from crawl to hunchback to hobble since last friday) and i am hopeful that i can start lightly exercising again soon and get back into insanity when i am feeling fully healed.  wondering if i will start back at day one or where i left off on day eight. today i will try some at-home stretches and i go to physical therapy starting next week.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;also, i am still drinking the shakeology every morning because im obsessed. im not saying it tastes like a hot fudge sundae or anything but its good and its filling and it gives me energy all morning.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;im thinking my posts will be a little spotty until im back on my feet again because no one wants to read about how my back hurts and how i want to do insanity but i can’t. wah. wah.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;i think that working out with the pain i had running down my right leg was a bad idea because when i woke up this morning i literally couldn’t put any pressure on it without crying. but dedicated insaniac that i am i tried to do the workout and five minutes in i was sobbing on the floor. the pain was unbearable just to stand… nevermind to jump, run, etc.  so i took more medicine hoping i would be able to do the workout later but the medicine never helped enough to enable me to do that.  i was literally crawling on the floor because walking hurt so much.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;as much as i don’t like to schlep it to the doctor’s (i’d much rather call my best friend for medical advice) unfortuntately i have to go (and it was her medical advice to go. darn it.) so i am going in the morning.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;hopefully they will tell me whats wrong and give me something for the pain. i will start insanity back up as soon as i am healed and just add on the extra days to the end. hopefully i can still have a shot at winning this challenge even with having to take a break from the exercise.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i am still going to eat healthy/drink shakeology/dream of when i can start exercising again. i was addicted after doing it five days and it is so frustrating to stop! &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;cramps from impending t.o.m.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;some sort of a muscle/nerve injury causing me to walk like im riding a horse&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;the workout was plyometric cardio (what i did day #1) but felt 1,000,000 times more difficult today with all my many issues. anyway, enough about me breathing into the rug like an oxygen mask every five minutes.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;yesterday i felt kind of crummy but i ignored it and went through my day as normal. this morning i woke up and i no longer could.  my throat felt raw and i had a headache, congestion, and a fever.  i spent the morning frustrated with my body… why would it choose day five to get sick when i am just getting into this program and so happy with my progress?!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i had a choice. i could skip the workout and be miserable or suck it up for 40 minutes and then spend the rest of the day taking care of myself.  i decided to suck it up… i am an insaniac after all&amp;#160;; ).  since today’s workout was Pure Cardio I figured my decision was either pure commitment… or pure stupidity.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;it ended up being a mixture of both!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;the workout was rough— harder than any of the other ones so far. my heart was racing and my body was protesting and i wanted to turn it off and get shaun t out of my living room…. but i just did the best i could. yes i stopped a few times, hunched over and wondering why the heck i wasn’t laying on the couch with tea. but i felt like a superhero when i was done (for once i didn’t let anything get in the way of my workout) and took care of myself the rest of the day.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;my insanity workout is &lt;strong&gt;non-negotiable&lt;/strong&gt;.  it doesn’t matter how busy, tired, sick, etc i am, i will set aside the hour every day for sixty days and just do it. the beachbody motto is DECIDE, COMMIT, SUCCEED and i have the first two on lock… the last is just around the corner. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;today’s insanity workout was called “cardio recovery” and it was nice because my heart wasn’t beating out of my chest the whole time and it was a little shorter than usual but we did these things called lunge pulses and squat pulses. i thought my legs were &lt;strong&gt;on fire&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;and might spontaneously fall off&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;in my opinion, “cardio recovery” should mean thirty minutes of child’s pose while Shaun T tells me how awesome I am… &lt;em&gt;and how skinny I’m getting&lt;/em&gt;. now that would recover me! lunge pulses, not so much.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Occupation:&lt;/strong&gt; stay-at-home-mom to an adorable six month old baby boy named cameron (&lt;em&gt;see below photo for proof of adorableness&lt;/em&gt;)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;the facts: i have been with my husband craig for over eight years and married for almost three. he is an amazing husband and incredible father… one of the best choices I have made in my life.  together we have a dog named princess lady (anybody watch The Office?!) and a baby named cameron.  in the years before i had got pregnant with cameron i taught first grade, preschool, and reading. and craig and i went to lots of movies and went on lots of vacations—- welcome baby, byebye to those fancy free days!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;here’s my little family:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;(&lt;em&gt;the picture that didn’t go on the christmas card because all i can see how heavy i am… and the wild devil eyes dont help…)&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;so thats me in a nutshell (can’t write this without thinking of austin powers!) so now for a wee bit of history on my weight…&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;when i met craig in 2004 I was a size two and just coming out of an unhealthy relationship where i definitely didn’t eat enough.  when we got married in 2010 I was a size six, happy and healthy. 2011 rolled around and i was a size four/six, ran 5ks, worked out every day, and ate clean…i even wrote a vegetarian health blog with a pretty good amount of readers.  life was great!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;then this even more wonderful thing happened… i got pregnant!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;                         &lt;strong&gt;     and gained seventy-five pounds… potentially eighty.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;jessica-simpson-style&lt;/em&gt;. and no, i didn’t have triplets.  just one awesomely healthy 10 lb 2 oz baby boy on august 3, 2012.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;and now here i am, six months post-partum, struggling to regain the energy i used to have and the clothes i used to wear.  i fight a battle &lt;em&gt;every day&lt;/em&gt; where i ultimately end up choosing chocolate cake over my skinny jeans and the comfort of the couch over going for a run.  there have been days where i have sobbed, avoided mirrors, tried to put an old shirt just to re-affirm that it still doesnt fit…. and its so damn frustrating.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;im actually so annoyed with myself for not getting my act together that i welcome this challenge.  it is going to be the hardest thing i have ever done and all i can think is…..&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;for the last two nights I have finished dinner and then desperately wanted something sweet—but thankfully the house is sweets-free. I decided both times to finish the night off with some sleepytime tea and it worked! i stopped being hungry (because cravings are not hunger…) and it helped me get in the zone for going to sleep.&amp;#160;: )&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;M4: &lt;/strong&gt;Oikos toasted coconut greek yogurt with 1/8 cup raw walnuts and 2 tsp cacao nibs **303cals**&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;M5: &lt;/strong&gt;1/2 american flatbread pizza and side salad (spinach, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and olive oil&amp;amp;vinegar)**660cals**&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;we went to whole foods together to picked up some fresh mozzarella (successfully ignored the cupcakes looking at us from the big glass displays) and came back to my house.  while angie got a mixture of prunes&amp;amp;avocados sprayed on her from my delightful baby, i whipped up our lunch faster than you can say “panera or moes?”. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Beautiful right? marinara sauce, mozzarella, rosemary, and thinly sliced zucchini all on 100-calorie wheat flatbreads. easy peasy lemon-squeezy. and 350 calories for the whole pizza (and you can lower that even more by using less cheese!).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;on to tonight’s dinner!! usually on weeknights (&lt;strong&gt;and&lt;/strong&gt; weekends, who am i kidding?) craig and i like to sit on our bums, order food online…thank you bertucci’s, chili’s, pizza hut, etc for helping us not move… and watch reality tv. it is our way of unwinding together and there is not much we love more.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;however, as lovely as it sounds, this is why i have not lost the rest of my pregnancy weight and have as much energy as a three-toed sloth swimming in molasses.&lt;/em&gt;  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;so our new way to unwind is to make healthy dinners together (tonight was turkey &amp;amp; veggie burgers with zucchini parmesan wedges) and then we still get to plop down with our friend the DVR for a while.  &lt;/p&gt;
